【pilvet -ピルヴェット-】
ひと目でわかる、表情豊かな凹凸感。
指でなぞるとよりはっきり感じられるボコボコとした立体感。
これは「壁糸」と呼ばれる特殊な紡績方法で生まれる、計算された表情です。
細い芯糸に綿の綿を巻きつけて熱を加えることで縮み、形を留めていく——
まるで和室の砂壁のような、ザラリとした質感と陰影。
均一に美しいだけの糸では出せない、どこか懐かしくて、それでいて新しい表情。
そしてこの糸を特別なものにしているのが、使用しているコットンそのもの。
pilvet -ピルヴェット- には、柔らかいコットンの綿毛を撚糸した
超長綿を使用しています。
高級なコットンほど繊維長が長く、光沢が出ると言われますが、
超長綿はまさにその代表格。長い一本の繊維が、シルクのような
なめらかな光沢と、しなやかな肌触りを生み出してくれます。
さらに驚くべきは、その糸の細さ。

・カシミヤ:14ミクロン
なんとこのコットン、あの高級素材カシミヤよりも細い糸で
できています。「コットン=マットで少し硬め」というイメージを
覆す、しっとりとした肌触りと上品な艶は、この繊維の細さゆえ。

カシミヤ級の繊細な肌触り、そしてシルクのような光沢。

A rich, textured surface you can see at a glance.
Run your fingers over it and the raised, bumpy texture becomes even
more pronounced. This comes from a special spinning technique called
"wall yarn" (kabe-ito) — a fine core thread wrapped in cotton fluff,
then set with heat that causes it to shrink and hold its shape.
The result is a rough, dimensional texture reminiscent of traditional
Japanese sand-textured walls (suna-kabe) — nostalgic yet fresh,
never simply smooth and uniform.
What makes this yarn truly special is the cotton itself.
pilvet is spun from extra-long staple cotton, made from soft cotton
fluff twisted into yarn.
The finer the cotton, the longer its fiber length tends to be —
and the more luster it takes on. Extra-long staple cotton is the
finest example of this: each long, continuous fiber creates a
silk-like sheen and a smooth, supple touch.
What's even more surprising is just how fine this yarn is.

This cotton is actually finer than cashmere, one of the world's
most luxurious fibers. It defies the usual image of cotton as
matte and slightly stiff — that soft, silky hand-feel and subtle
sheen come directly from how fine the fiber is.

as cashmere, and a sheen reminiscent of silk. Every stitch will
